Job Details

Overview: The IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful end-to-end delivery of strategic projects, programs, and portfolios within the organization. This role involves leading projects, programs, and portfolios, as well as Agile ART or multiple agile teams, throughout the systems development life cycle, from planning to hyper care. The IT Project Manager works closely with IT and business leaders, including executive sponsors, to ensure the success of initiatives. Additionally, this role involves leading, collaborating, coaching team members, and influencing stakeholders outside the direct team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Execute change management activities, including training and communications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to forecast financial and resource needs to meet delivery objectives.
  • Plan and execute test plans, defining test metrics and monitoring testing progress.
  • Develop work breakdown structures and track project plans.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Develop communication and training strategies and execute them effectively.
  • Create and manage project budgets.
  • Identify, analyze, track, and manage project risks and issues to closure.
  • Organize project teams to meet project requirements.
  • Manage projects to successfully achieve business requirements and outcomes.
  • Utilize best practices to drive process improvements in project delivery.
  • Keep abreast of latest trends and best practices in Portfolio and Project management.
  • Apply industry knowledge to improve business capabilities.
  • Ensure solutions and services deliver expected business value.
  • Define resource plans and manage resources throughout project life cycle.
  • Monitor costs and implement improvements to optimize project delivery.
  • Facilitate collection, prioritization, planning, and execution of projects by key stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 years of experience leading system development or relevant work experience
  • Experience managing projects ranging from $500K to $1M, or up to 5 small projects concurrently, with teams of 25 people or less
  • Strong critical thinking and results-oriented mindset
  • Demonstrated business acumen and ability to influence others
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Process-oriented with experience in Agile delivery values
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects across various functions
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
  • Ability to mentor project management staff and develop team members
  • Strong problem-solving, budget, and risk management skills
  • Ability to quickly assess projects, identify areas for improvement, and implement change management strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Project Management (PMI) or Agile Certification
  • Experience with IT Architecture & Systems
  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle methodologies

    • Sitting and typing/keyboarding for extended periods
    • Occasional walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
    • Occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
